Open Meeting Law Opinions

The Open Meeting Law Opinions (OMLO) listed below address Open Meeting Law complaints pursuant to NRS chapter 241, Nevada's Open Meeting Law. The Attorney General's Office issues these opinions as guidelines for enforcing the Open Meeting Law. An OMLO is a published opinion used by the Legislative Counsel Bureau as an annotation to NRS chapter 241, and it meets one of the following criteria: (1) discusses an issue of first impression; (2) elaborates on an issue; (3) changes a previous opinion by this office; (4) reverses a previous opinion by this office; or (5) at the discretion of the drafting attorney (i.e. hot topic, significant issue, repeat offender). This section also includes Attorney General Opinions (AGO) requested pursuant to NRS 228.150, which touches on Open Meeting Law issues.
